WINCHESTER ? Perry-Lecompton’s girls basketball team tripped Oskaloosa, 41-35, in a first-round Jefferson North tournament game Thursday.

Haley Wilson scored 11 points and Alyssa Higgins eight for P-L. Julie Norman had 11 for Oskaloosa.

“We played really well. We worked hard. It felt good to win, especially since we’ve not had such a great season,” Higgins said.

P-L, 2-7, will meet Shawnee Maranatha in the semifinals at 7:30 p.m. today. Oskaloosa will play Valley Falls at 4:30 p.m.
