- KU has won 27 straight against KSU overall and 20 straight in Manhattan.

- Kansas State’s last victory over KU in Manhattan was a 58-57 win Jan. 29, 1983, at Ahearn Fieldhouse.
- The Jayhawks won the first-ever meeting with K-State, 54-39, Jan. 25, 1907 in Lawrence.
- Self was a player for Oklahoma State from 1981 to 1985 and faced the Wildcats nine times. He was 7-2 all-time against KSU as a player.
- Wildcat junior Mark Frederick is the son of former KU athletic director Bob Frederick. The Lawrence native spent two years at KU, transferred to K-State in the fall and walked on to the basketball team. He’s made three of four shots from the field.
