Jurors found 20-year-old Patrick C. Neal, Lawrence, guilty of rape Thursday evening for attacking a woman after she gave him a ride home from a downtown nightclub.

The attack happened early June 6 after the woman, a 28-year-old Lawrence resident, gave the man a ride home from La Tasca, 943 Mass. Upon arrival at an apartment complex near Sixth Street and Monterey Way, Neal picked her up, carried her to a secluded area, then punched and choked her as he raped her, the victim testified.

Neal also was found guilty of aggravated battery, but was acquitted on aggravated sodomy and aggravated kidnapping charges.
