Brian Kastning and Mindi Bott

Lynn and Debbie Bott, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their daughter, Mindi Sue Bott, Lawrence, to Brian Allen Kastning, Overland Park.

The bride-to-be is a Lawrence High School graduate. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from Emporia State University. She teaches preschool at Marion Springs Elementary School in Baldwin.

The future groom is the son of Allen and Linda Kastning, Elgin, Ill. He is a graduate of Conant High School, Hoffman Estates, Ill. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Wheaton College, Wheaton, Ill. He is a captain in the U.S. Army. He is serving as company commander, supervising Army recruiters in northeast Kansas.

The couple plan an April 24 wedding at First United Methodist Church in Lawrence.

Vivian Ryan, Lawrence, announces the engagement of her daughter Lorie Ryan to Chuck Scully, both of Thomasville, Ga.

The future bride is a 1987 graduate of Lawrence High School. She moved to Thomasville, Ga., in March.

The future groom is the son of Charles Scully, Tallahassee, Fla., and Patsy Scully, Thomasville, Ga. He is a 1989 graduate of Thomasville High School. He works at Captain D’s as a cook.

The couple plan an April 10 rose garden wedding in Thomasville, Ga.

Grammer-Maxon

Steve and Becky Grammer, Baldwin, announce the engagement of their daughter, Katie Grammer, to Dave Maxon, son of Ron and Sue Maxon, Plano, Texas.

They are both graduates of Emporia State University.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Becky and Ray Taylor, Viola. She is a Hutchinson High School graduate. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in art history, with a minor in French, at Kansas University.

The future groom is the son of Rob and LeAnn Kruckenberg, Wichita. He also is a Hutchinson High School graduate. He is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in art at KU.

The couple plan a June 26 wedding at Danforth Chapel on KU’s campus.

He is a KU graduate. He is employed by Netopia.
