Burlington ? Lindsay Boss hit seven of 11 three-point tries and scored 25 points as Santa Fe Trail rebounded from a first-round loss to hammer Council Grove, 61-42, in the consolation bracket Friday of the Burlington High girls basketball tournament.

“She was just on fire,” SFT coach Brenda Dahl said of Boss. “Holy cow. It didn’t matter if they were in her face. She was feeling it.”

Alexis Pryor added 17 points, and seven Chargers scored.

“It’s disappointing we lost in the first round, but I loved the way we came out tonight,” Dahl said. “Everybody bounced back in a great way tonight, and hopefully we’ll continue it tomorrow.”

SF Trail (8-3) outscored Council Grove in every quarter and allowed just eight points in the first quarter and 19 in the first half.

“The big thing was, offensively we were just as smooth as we’ve looked all year,” Dahl said. “They were running everything correctly and at a good tempo. Things were clicking. We took 30 shots in the first half, and one of our goals is to get 60 shots a game. Things worked well.

SFT will face Labette County today for fifth place.

Tonganoxie — Sarah Holiday scored 14 and Addie Heim added 11 as Tonganoxie rallied to edge Lansing and reach the championship game of the Tonganoxie Invitational.

The score was close throughout, tied 9-all at the end of the first quarter and 23-22 in Tongie’s favor at halftime. Lansing went ahead, 34-32, heading into the fourth quarter before the Chieftains pulled away.
