Harold Belzer

? Services for Harold Belzer, 84, Albia, will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, in the First Christian Church in Albia. Burial will be in Hayden Chapel Cemetery, rural Albia.

Mr. Belzer died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, at Oakwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Albia.

He was born Sept. 29, 1919, in Monroe County, Iowa, the son of Thomas and Gertrude (Cubit) Belzer. He graduated from Albia High School.

Mr. Belzer worked in the carpentry business in several communities in Iowa and in Kansas. While living in Fremont, he was a member of the Lions Club and was a volunteer firefighter. He also was on the city council and was a member of the United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday school. He also was a member of the First Christian Church.

He married Leota Rodabaugh. They divorced. He married Ruth Bunch on Sept. 29, 1967, in Lovilia, Iowa. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include a son, Jerry, Lawrence, Kan.; and three grandchildren.

Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Gilbert-Boman Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
