P-L girls lose; EHS girls cruise

? Though Silver Lake High lost two players from last year’s squad to the college level, Perry-Lecompton girls basketball coach Kevin Bost knew Silver Lake still would be a formidable foe.

He was right. His young Kaws were no match for a weakened but more experienced Eagles squad as Silver Lake rolled to a 54-29 victory Tuesday.

“We’re a young team, playing a lot of sophomores and juniors,” Bost said. “They’re a real strong team, and it’s tough to beat their tradition.”

Andrea Williams and Alyssa Higgins led the Kaws with six points apiece.
