Warmer weather by Wednesday

It’s definitely cold, but not quite record-breaking, according to 6News meteorologist Ross Janssen.

The record low for today is minus 16 degrees, set in 1924. Janssen said tonight’s temperatures probably will be at least 10 degrees warmer than that, under mostly clear skies.

The wind will die down tonight, but the wind chill could be 15 to 20 degrees below zero, Janssen said, “which is dangerously cold, needless to say.”

Temperatures will be in the 20s with wind chills in the single digits Tuesday. Skies will be mostly sunny. By Wednesday, temperatures could climb above freezing.
