More schools ban recruiters from university

? The list of Kansas high schools that have banned recruiters from Washburn University because of a sculpture some find anti-Catholic now includes six high schools in the Kansas City, Kan., archdiocese and five others in the Salina diocese.

Kathleen O’Hara, superintendent of schools for the Catholic Archdiocese of Kansas City, Kan., said Washburn officials soon would receive a letter from archdiocese officials prohibiting the school from recruiting at its high schools.

The Catholic Diocese of Salina and its five high schools also joined the ban. Wichita’s Catholic and public schools had already banned recruiters from Washburn. The Diocese of Dodge City does not include any high schools.
