Hoffman services

Services for Elaine M. Hoffman, 80, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

Mrs. Hoffman died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born Jan. 6, 1924, in Altamont, the daughter of Myron V. and Hazel (Eplee) George.

Mrs. Hoffman graduated from Coffeyville Community College. She moved in 1968 to Lawrence from Hastings, Neb. She also lived in Prairie Village for seven years.

She was a 50-year member of the P.E.O. sisterhood. In Lawrence, she was a member of Chapter EA. She also was a member of Congressional Women’s Club and First United Methodist Church in Hastings.

She married Allen Hoffman on Aug. 17, 1943, in Pensacola, Fla. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include a daughter, Alana Biggs, Bastrop, Texas; two sons, David Hoffman, Pryor, Okla., and Rick Hoffman, Topeka; a brother, Richard George, Rimrock, Ariz.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society of the American Lung Assn., sent in care of the mortuary.
