Just how civil is the city of Lawrence?

A panel of local officials will attempt to answer that question during a town hall meeting from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Feb. 26 at the Dole Institute of Politics on the Kansas University campus.

Panelists will examine the topic of whether Lawrence is a respectful community. Moderator will be Mike Kautch, professor of law at KU.

Panelists scheduled for the event will include Deanell Tacha, chief justice of the 10th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals; Walt Menninger of Topeka; Lt. Dan Affalter, detective with the Lawrence Police Department; the Rev. Verdell Taylor of St. Luke AME Church; and Sharen Steele, principal at New York School.
