Nathan Brinson and Shawna Wright Brinson

Shawna Wright and Nathan Brinson, both of Lawrence, were married Sept. 6, 2003, at St. Lawrence Catholic Center with the Revs. John Schmeidler and Kate Johnson Martin officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. Stan Wright, Wichita, and Mark and Connie Tindal, Wichita. The groom is the son of Bill and Patty Brinson, Edwardsville, Ill.

Maid of honor was Karen Schwarzer. Best man was Jason Thompson.

Bridesmaids were Karen Willey and Lindsey Brinson. Groomsmen were Colin Brinson and Bryon Wright. Ushers were Michael Gaughan and Keith Henderson. Reader was Nick Bartkoski.

A dessert reception was given at the Castle Tea Room in Lawrence. Wedding celebrations also were given in Enid, Okla., and Edwardsville, Ill. The couple took a honeymoon trip to Niagara Falls and Toronto.

The bride is a Hutchinson High School graduate. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in geography from Kansas University, where she is pursuing a master’s degree in geography. She works at the Lawrence Arts Center.

The groom is a graduate of Edwardsville High School. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in geography and political science at KU, where he is pursuing a master’s degree in geography. He works for Connex International.

The couple reside in Lawrence.

Amy and Eric Gruber

Amy Hardwick and Eric Gruber were married July 26, 2003, at Christ Community Church, Lawrence, with the Rev. Mark Knight officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Donald and Marion Hardwick, Manhattan. The groom is the son of Robert and Linda Gruber, Baxter Springs.

Maid of honor was Rebecca Hardwick. Best man was Jeff Page. Bridesmaids were Misti Hammerschmidt and Heather Bennett. Groomsmen were Alex Kissel and Grant Randall. Ushers were Brandon Edling and Summer Kemp. Flower girl was J.C. Stanley. Ring bearer was Katelyn Jo Schooley. Musician was Alex Kissel.

A reception was given at Steve’s Place, Lawrence.

The couple took a wedding trip to Walt Disney World, Orlando, Fla.

The bride is a 1994 graduate of Manhattan High School. She graduated from Kansas State University in 1999 with a bachelor’s degree in family life and community services. She received a master’s degree in early childhood special education from Kansas University in 2003. She is employed as a lead preschool teacher at Brookcreek Learning Center, Lawrence.

The groom is a 1994 graduate of Baxter Springs High School. He graduated from Southern Missouri State University in 1999 with a bachelor’s degree in mass communications. He is employed as a pagination editor for The Ottawa Herald, Ottawa.

The couple reside in Lawrence.
