Conference focuses on treatment of poisoning

The prevention, diagnosis and treatment of patients exposed to poisons will be the topic of a conference scheduled by Kansas University Continuing Education this spring.

The first Kansas Toxicology Conference will be April 2 at the Overland Park Convention Center. It will be geared toward emergency and critical-care practitioners and nurses, emergency department nurses, physician assistants, EMS providers and pharmacists.

Instructors will include specialists from the KU Medical Center, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, Children’s Mercy Hospital, the University of Nebraska Medical Center and the University of Missouri-Kansas City medical school.
