Children to volunteer for dental patients

The Roger Hill Volunteer Center will sponsor its second Kids Care Club event from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the United Way building, 2518 Ridge Court.

Elementary-aged children and their families will make dental care kits and valentines for pediatric patients of the Douglas County Dental Clinic. Children are asked to bring a tube of toothpaste to donate to the kits.

Kids Care Club is a national movement to develop compassion and charity in children through hands-on projects that help others. The volunteer center sponsors events four times a year to promote the movement. In November, children made pine cone turkeys that were delivered with Thanksgiving meals through the Douglas County Senior Meals Program.

Registration is required for Saturday’s event and children must be accompanied by parents. To register or for more information, call 865-5030.
