The O.U.R.S. (Oldsters United for Responsible Service) group recently elected officers for 2005. They are: Leo Shaw, president; Nancy Shockley, first vice president; Bonnie Worley, second vice president; Eleanor Northern, secretary; and Mavis Routh, treasurer.

The Lawrence Mentor’s Duplicate Bridge Club met Dec. 15. Nine pairs competed in a stratified game following a Howell movement. Don Brennaman directed the game.

Emily Foster and Al Ballard claimed first place in A and B. Don Daugherty and Harry Talley were second in A. Bob Anderson and Betty Spalsbury took third in A and second in B. Grant Sutton and Ann Thompson tied for fourth in A with Bill Hamilton and Barb Hamilton, and also were third in B.

The Lawrence Duplicate Bridge Club met Monday. Six and a half tables competed in a stratified game following a Mitchell movement. Don Brennaman directed the game.

Playing the North-South cards, Larry Bodle and Kent McCullough placed first in A. Patt Radford and John Hickey were second. Carl Mibeck and Jack Mibeck took third in A and first in B and C. Frances Vogel and Alice Leitch were second in B and C.

Sitting East-West, Russ LaForce and Lois Clark took first in A, B and C. Harry Shaffer were second in A. Mona Bell and Julia Brooks were third in A.
