Bulldogs pull away
Baldwin boys score 35 points in fourth quarter of 76-70 victory
Paola ? It was a fourth quarter to remember, and it propelled Baldwin High’s boys basketball team from a deep deficit to a 76-70 victory over Kansas City Turner on Friday night.
The Bulldogs dropped 35 points on Turner in the fourth quarter, after trailing for much of the game. The Bulldogs were led by Ryan Jorgenson, who scored 19 points.
Baldwin led by three after the first quarter, but trailed 31-30 at halftime and 53-41 after three quarters.
“It was unbelievable,” BHS coach Heath Cooper said. “I think we finally wore them down. They kind of lost their legs toward the end, and we got some turnovers and easy buckets.”
Baldwin (2-2) will play Ottawa on Jan. 4
