Charles E. Shaughnessy

Axtell ? Vigil services for Charles E. Shaughnessy, 92, Axtell, will be at 7 p.m. today at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Axtell. Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Michael’s Cemetery.

Mr. Shaughnessy died Sunday, Aug. 22, 2004, at Frankfort Care Home.

He was born Dec. 30, 1911, in St. Bridget Township, the son of James and Ellen Broyler Shaughnessy.

Mr. Shaughnessy was a lifelong farmer, stockman and breeder of registered Hereford cattle.

He married Eileen Porting on May 22, 1946. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include four sons, the Rev. James, Frankfort, formerly of Lawrence, Joe, Axtell, Mike, Silver Lake, and Sean, Montezuma; two daughters, Ellen Nordhus, Centralia, and Laurie Dugan, Mayetta; and 21 grandchildren.

Three children died earlier.
