Deborah L. Dillon

Mass of Christian Burial for Deborah L. Dillon, 52, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Dillon died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004, at Cooper’s Care Home in Lawrence.

She was born April 28, 1952, in Dyess, Ark., the daughter of George L. and Evelyn List Glover.

Mrs. Dillon received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education in May 1986 from Washburn University.

She was a teacher in Bowie, Md., a substitute teacher in Lawrence schools and in Maine where she also was a seventh-grade girls basketball coach, and a paraprofessional at Shawnee Mission West High School. She also worked as a National Certified Aerobics Instructor, a secretary for Maupintour Travel, a legal secretary for the law firm of Ascough, Bausch and Eschman in Topeka, and she was a trading recorder for the Kansas City Board of Trade in Kansas City, Mo.

Mrs. Dillon was the treasurer at the Washburn Education Assn. and was a member of the Kansas Student National Education Assn. She was a Brownie leader and a room mother.

She married Larry Dillon on June 27, 1970, in Lawrence. He survives, of the home.

Other survivors include a daughter, Jennifer M. Mohl, Olathe; a son, Jeffrey M. Dillon, Lawrence; two brothers, Michael G. Glover, Lake Forrest, Calif., and Gary J. Glover, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and two grandchildren.

A prayer service will be at 7 p.m., followed by the family greeting friends until 9 p.m. Thursday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Huntington’s Disease Society Assn., sent in care of the mortuary.
