Grant to train teachers of limited-English users

? Kansas State University will receive a $747,175 grant to help train teachers of limited-English students.

The five-year grant is part of the National Professional Development program, which targets the needs of students with limited English skills. It is offered as part of the federal No Child Left Behind law.

Higher education institutions that work alongside state education agencies or local school districts are eligible to receive a grant under the program.

The grant to KSU was announced by U.S. Sen. Sam Brownback, R-Kan.
