Ohlen-Lamont

Christine Ann Ohlen and Jason Alan Lamont, both U.S. Air Force captains stationed at Ramstein Air Base in Germany, were married June 19, 2004, at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island Base Chapel in Oak Harbor, Wash., with the Rev. Stephen Barth officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Robert and Gudrun Ohlen, Olathe. The groom is the son of Lt. Cmdr. T.J. and Pat Lamont, Oak Harbor, Wash.

Maid of honor was Nicole Ohlen. Best man was Lt. Cmdr. T.J. Lamont. Bridesmaids were Dr. Lita Yu and Juhi Mehta. Groomsmen were Capt. Gray Hanson and Capt. Ty Smith. Ushers were Dr. Johnny Su and Cameron Johnson.

A reception followed the ceremony at the Chief Petty Officers’ Club in Oak Harbor. The couple plans to take a honeymoon cruise of the eastern Mediterranean Sea.

The bride is a 1991 graduate of Lawrence High School. In 1995, she received a bachelor’s degree from Mary Washington College, Fredericksburg, Va. She earned a juris doctorate from KU in 1998. She is an attorney in the U.S. Air Force.

The groom is a 1991 graduate from Oak Harbor High School. In 1995, he received a bachelor’s degree from the U.S. Air Force Academy. He earned a master’s degree from Troy State University in 2004. He is an intelligence officer in the U.S. Air Force.

The couple reside in Thaleischweiler-Frschen, Germany.

Rutan-Fowler

Marcy Rutan, Lawrence, and Nathan Fowler, Fayetteville, N.C., were married June 11, 2004, in the Danforth Chapel on Kansas University’s campus.

The bride is the daughter of Terry Knopke, Atchison, and John Rutan, Las Vegas. The groom is the son of Kim and Wade Fowler Jr., Fayetteville, N.C., and the late Katherine Fowler.

Matron of honor was Jena Meyerpeter. Bridesmaid was Leslie Wright. Flower girl was Jalen Meyerpeter.

Phil Hamrick was best man. Groomsmen were David Fowler and William Fowler. Usher was Danny Rutan.

A reception was given after the ceremony at the Eldridge Hotel in downtown Lawrence. The couple took a honeymoon trip to Miami.

The bride is pursuing a bachelor’s degree at Kansas University. The groom is a network engineer in Kansas City.

The couple reside in Lawrence.
