Alice L. Johnson

PLATTE CITY, MO. ? Services for Alice L. Johnson, 79, Platte City, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Platte City. Burial will be in White Chapel Cemetery in Kansas City, Mo.

Mrs. Johnson died Wednesday, April 28, 2004, at her home.

She was born Nov. 12, 1924, in Carroll County, the daughter of William Joseph and Estella Lora Whitney Johnson.

Mrs. Johnson was a member of Gashland Baptist Church from 1953 to 1974 and had been a member of First Baptist Church of Platte City for 30 years. She was a Sunday school teacher for 65 years.

She married Andrew Olie Johnson on Sept. 3, 1946, in Kansas City, Mo. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include three daughters, Adra Burks Bowden, Lawrence, Kan., Anna Unmack, Shawnee, Kan., and Arla Edelbaum, Kansas City, Mo.; a sister, Marjorie Cross, Macon; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today at Rollins Funeral Home in Platte City.

The family suggests memorials to First Baptist Church in Platte City or the Baptist Home in Chillicothe, sent in care of the funeral home, 1106 E. Branch St., Platte City, MO 64079-9714.
