Shepard services

Graveside services for John “Jack” Charles Shepard, 70, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Shepard died Saturday, April 24, 2004, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

He was born June 10, 1933, in New Hartford, Conn., the son of Louis and Mary Donahue Shepard.

Mr. Shepard was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars, having served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 until retiring in 1971.

He then moved to Lawrence and worked for the Kmart Distribution Center from 1972 until 1996. He was a member of the Baldwin Golf Assn.

He married Marcia Lynn Smiley on March 10, 1971, in Fort Walton Beach, Fla. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include three daughters, Kasey Shepard, Lawrence, Suzanne Cook, Hickory, N.C., and Diane Garcia, Orlando, Fla.; two sons, Patrick, Lawrence, and John M., Apopka, Fla.; a sister, Joan Rossisito, Hartford, Conn.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. They suggest memorials to the LMH Oncology Unit, sent in care of the mortuary.
