Mary Louise Pietsch Ellsworth

Services for Mary Louise Pietsch Ellsworth, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church. Inurnment will be later in Memorial Park Cemetery in Orangeburg, S.C.

Mrs. Ellsworth died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2003, at Brandon Woods Retirement Community.

She was born in Winnetka, Ill., the daughter of William S. and Fannie Edith (Newell) Dillon. She graduated from Roycemore School in Evanston, Ill., and received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Northwestern University.

Mrs. Ellsworth was a member of the Catholic Church, Alvamar Country Club and the Alvamar Women’s Golf Assn.

She married John O.C. Pietsch on Nov. 23, 1940, in Winnetka, Ill. He died Dec. 14, 1986. She married Harold F. Ellsworth on Sept. 2, 1995. He died Feb. 1, 2000.

Survivors include a daughter, Joan Wilhite Stephens, Lawrence; two sons, John B. Pietsch, Nashville, Tenn., and James D. Pietsch, New Albany, Ind.; a stepdaughter, Anne Wigglesworth, New York City; a stepson, Steve Ellsworth, Lawrence; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to Douglas County Visiting Nurses Assn. or Heart of America Hospice, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
