Jackie Layne Ryburn

? Services for Jackie Layne Ryburn, 69, Wellsville, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Wilson’s Funeral Home in Wellsville. Burial will follow in Wellsville Cemetery.

Mr. Ryburn died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2003, at his home, of cancer.

He was born Dec. 18, 1933, in Howe, Okla., the son of Willie “Hoss” and Adlee (Robinson) Ryburn. He grew up in LaFlore County in Oklahoma and after several moves with his family graduated from Gardena (Calif.) High School in 1952. He had lived in the Wellsville area for 32 years.

Mr. Ryburn joined the U.S. Army in 1956 and served overseas until 1958, when he was honorably discharged. He was a lithographer at Rigby Corp. in Kansas City, Mo., from 1959 to 1974. He owned and operated the Dari Bar from 1974 to 1982 and Ryburn’s Recreation from 1981 to 2000. He was a member of Harley Owners Group and A Brotherhood Aimed Toward Education (ABATE).

He married Joyce Marie Asher in 1960. They later divorced. He married Peggy Wheeler on June 22, 1963, in Independence, Mo. She died April 15, 1994. He married Mary (Chanay) Ferguson on May 26, 2001, in Wellsville. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Scott and Jason, both of Wellsville; a daughter, Shannon Jackson, Garnett; four stepdaughters, Brenda Stinson, Ottawa, Nancy Parkin and Wanda Hamilton, both of Pomona, and Myla Hogan, Williamsburg; a stepson, Richard Ferguson, Williamsburg; a brother, Shay Ben, Little Rock, Ark.; and many grandchildren and stepgrandchildren.

An infant grandson died in 2002.

Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
