Dale Edsel Gibson

? Services for Dale Edsel Gibson, 84, St. Louis, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Barnett Funeral Home in Oskaloosa. Burial will be in Winchester Wise Cemetery.

Mr. Gibson died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2003, in St. Louis.

He was born March 24, 1919, near Winchester, the son of Lawrence Ray and Lola Housh Gibson. He graduated from Kansas State University in 1941. He was a Garden City resident from 1956 to 2002 after moving from Haven.

Mr. Gibson was a math and science teacher and coach for 37 years. He taught in Morrowville, Oskaloosa, Haven and Garden City. After retiring from teaching, he farmed outside Deerfield.

He married Madeline Trower on July 17, 1938, in Topeka. She survives of Manchester.

Other survivors include three daughters, Julia Shrimplin, Holcomb, Mary York, Manchester, Mo., and Nina Dougherty, Gladstone, Mo.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A great-grandson died earlier.
