Huckfeldt JGC Winner: Ron Huckfeldt fired a 77 and won last Sunday's Jayhawk Golf Club tournament at Alvamar by three strokes over Kent Beisner and Mike Naegele. Van Reichert carded an 81. In net scoring, Dean Hilker, Tom Lohmeyer and Pete Whitenight were low, all with 71s.

  • Leonardi Shines: Celeste Leonardi of Lawrence finished second in the women's ages 55-59 age group at last Sunday's Wichita Marathon. Leonardi was timed in 4:27:28.

  • Strikers White Win: Cassie Pannell, Chris Pannell, Anna Ashcraft and Kendal Forio scored goals as Lawrence Strikers White blanked K.C. Legends, 4-0, in girls soccer at Olathe Heritage Park.

  • Youth Baseball: Kansas Plowboys, a U-9 summer baseball team, has roster openings for next summer. For information, call Kirk Patterson at 331-3825 or (785) 796-6246.

  • Raiders Opening: Application deadline is Nov. 3 to apply for the coaching vacancy of the Lawrence Amateur Baseball Assn.'s U-18 Raiders team. For information, call Ron Goodwin at 843-4662.

  • Youth Officials: City parks and recreation is looking for officials for its winter youth basketball programs. If interested, call Lee Ice at 832-7940.

  • Speedway 5K Champ: Dee Boeck of Lawrence won the women's ages 50-54 competition Sunday at the Kansas City Speedway Monster Dash 5K. Lawrence's David Roberts was second in the men's 30-34 division and Wally Brawner of Tonganoxie third in the men's 60-64 group.
