? Seabury Academy’s volleyball team went 1-1 Tuesday at the Class 1A regional tournament. Seabury beat Kansas School for the Deaf, 25-15, 25-11, then fell to top-seeded White City, 17-25, 19-25.

White City advanced to sub-state, while Seabury finished the season 7-23.

Junior Elise Stella had eight kills, one stuff block and did not commit a hitting error. Sophomore Lindsey Ahlen was 22-22 serving with five aces, nine kills and one stuff block.

Junior Laura Frizell went 12-14 serving with three aces.

“It was easily our best match of the year,” coach Craig Friedrichsen said of the loss in the finale. “White City was big and strong and hit the ball hard. Their coach said, ‘You had us going.’ They called three time-outs to stop our momentum. It was a thrilling match to be in.”
