  • Cub Scout Pack 3370, chartered to Deerfield PTA, had its monthly pack meeting Oct. 6 in the Deerfield School cafeteria.

The following Wolf Den Scouts earned their Bobcat badges: Lucas Werner, Matthew Thompson, Mark Stevens, Aaron Simons, Alexander Houston, Taylor Grob, Adam Gowen, Stephen Fulton, Michael Edman, Hunter Dedloff, Logan Cherland, Reid Buckingham, Blair Bracciano and John Bennett. The badges were presented by Cubmaster Rick Werner and assistant Cubmaster Scott Braden.

The pack also welcomed nine new members to the Tiger Den: Jakob Farrar, Nicholas Hocking, Jawan Johnson, Joseph Miller, David Neff, Brenden Phillip, Michael Quackenbush, Brandon Wilson and Bryce Wulfkuhle. Cubmaster Rick Werner presented the Tiger Den with the “Spirit Stick,” a traveling trophy for outstanding attendance, decorum and uniforms. The Tiger Den leaders are Karen Wulfkuhle and Mike Hocking.

  • Pelathe District had its 18th annual Eagle recognition dinner Oct. 9 at the Lawrence Country Club.

Boy Scouts who earned the Eagle Scout Award during the past year were recognized during the dinner. Eighteen Scouts earned the Eagle Award. They are Brian Teefey and Brian Segebrecht, of Troop 53; Jared Pringle and Aaron Neis, of Troop 64; Spence Chaney and Joshua Freeman, of Troop 61; Bud Fielder and Russell Davies, of Troop 60; Peter Hill, of Troop 62; Nathan Markham, of Troop 158; Phillip Wrigley, Bryce Wilson and Kendall Scarffe, of Troop 59; and Andrew Avila, Brandon Nightingale, Jordan Gouge, Chris Volek and Dan Ohlemeier, of Troop 55. Maj. Gen. Gray Gardner, of the Kansas National Guard, spoke about critical leadership skills and values. The dinner was sponsored by the Breakfast Optimist Club and the Bromelsick Activity Trust.

  • Pelathe District’s annual Webelo Woods Weekend was Sept. 19-21 at Baldwin’s Spring Lake. There were 150 Webelos, 40 Boy Scouts and 75 leaders in attendance. Troops 65 and 64 were hosts. Activities included fire building, cooking, first-aid lessons, tying knots, canoeing and orienteering. Demonstrations were given in rope making, brain tanning, branding, blacksmithing, drumming and dancing. The highlight of the weekend was a campfire. Order of the Arrow members from the Troops 65 and 64 dressed in American Indian attire and performed a ceremony at the campfire that explained the Arrow of Light Award, the highest award available for Cub Scouts. Units that attended included 3051, 3052, 3055, 3057, 3059, 3064, 3065, 3071, 3072 and 3077.
