Lois Pearl Granowski

Mrs. Granowski died Monday, Oct. 13, 2003, at Brandon Woods Retirement Community.

She was born Dec. 19, 1922, in Kuna, Idaho, the daughter of Wayne and Marian (Wells) Inselman. She lived most of her life in San Francisco and Hempstead, Texas, before moving to Lawrence in 1993.

Mrs. Granowski was a bookkeeper and member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church.

She married Earl R. Carey on Feb. 12, 1941. They later divorced. She married Edward James Granowski on March 11, 1967, in Nevada. He died Aug. 24, 2000.

Survivors include a daughter, JoAnn Dalquest, Lawrence; two sons, Wendell Carey, Bolivar, Mo., and Les Carey, Exeter, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The family will greet friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.

The family suggests memorials to the charity of the donor’s choice, sent in care of the mortuary.
