Commission to meet Oct. 23 in Burns

Kansas Wildlife and Parks commissioners will conduct a public meeting and hearing Oct. 23 in the southeast Marion County community of Burns.

The afternoon session will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the Community Center in Burns. The evening public hearing will start at 7 p.m. at the same location.

The public is invited to attend all sessions.

The afternoon session will begin with reports from Secretary Mike Hayden on department-related legislation anticipated in the 2004 Kansas Legislature, an update on department efforts to acquire water rights for recreational use at Sebelius Reservoir and reports on the department’s 2004 and 2005 budgets.
