Player hurt at Haskell recovering

A Southwestern Assemblies of God University football player injured Saturday in a game at Haskell Stadium remains in the KU Med Center.

Kristy McGee, director of public relations for the Waxahachie, Texas, school, said Josh Roark was moved out of intensive care Monday and would be kept for observation through Wednesday.

McGee said Roark, a freshman wide receiver, was expected to recover fully.

Roark was injured on the sixth play against Haskell Indian Nations University. Roark leaped to attempt to catch a pass, was tackled and went to the ground.

When Roark failed to respond, Douglas County Fire and Medical was alerted, and a helicopter was ordered. Roark was then flown to the KU Med Center.

The game, won 28-21 by SAGU, was delayed nearly an hour.
