Ivan R. Pippert

Services for Ivan R. Pippert, 74, Ozawkie, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Clinton Parkway Assembly of God Church. Burial will be in Sutton Cemetery in southwest Douglas County.

Mr. Pippert died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2003, in Lawrence.

He was born Feb. 9, 1929, in Worden, the son of Albert C. Sr. and Mary Catherine (Sutton) Pippert.

Mr. Pippert served in the U.S. Army for six years. He did electrical work for Anderson Construction. He later worked for Kansas Power and Light for 15 years before retiring in 1992. He also worked for Foley Construction for about five years. He was a member of Clinton Parkway Assembly of God.

He married Carolyn R. Redford on Aug. 11, 1956, in Lawrence. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Larry, Baldwin, and Jeff, Ozawkie; two brothers, Albert Jr., Lawrence, and Stanley, Scranton; a stepbrother, Carl Kirk, Arizona; three sisters, Maxine Kirk, Wichita, Mary Ann Kohler, Baldwin, and Patricia Ann Pippert; a stepsister, Delores Shelley, Lawrence; and five grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

The family suggests memorials to the church, sent in care of the funeral home.
