KU female student fends off knife-wielding, masked attacker on west campus
A man wearing a ski mask and holding a knife grabbed a female Kansas University student early Friday morning at the Lied Center parking lot on KU’s west campus, police said.
The woman, a resident of Ellsworth Hall, was able to pull away — apparently because another vehicle drove by, police said.
The assault happened about 12:45 a.m. on the east edge of the parking lot near the bridge that crosses Iowa Street, said KU Police Maj. Chris Keary.
Keary described the attacker as about 6-feet-tall with a medium build wearing a dark sweater, blue jeans and a ski mask.
Keary asked anyone who witnessed the incident to call KU police at 864-5900.
