Laurie Lynn Hanvy-Newport

? Services for Laurie Lynn Hanvy-Newport, 38, Morton, Wyo., will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Parker-Price Mortuary in Topeka. Burial will be in Topeka Cemetery.

Mrs. Hanvy-Newport died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003, after an apparent murder-suicide at her home in Morton.

She was born Dec. 15, 1964, in Topeka, the daughter of Doyle E. Sr. and Josephine A. (Ditch) Hanvy. She was raised in Topeka and graduated from Seaman High School. She lived in Perry for several years until moving to Wyoming three years ago.

Mrs. Hanvy-Newport had worked at several nursing homes in Topeka. She owned and operated Stage Stop Bar and Saloon in Morton.

She married Tim Newport on April 17, 1993, in Perry. He survives, of Perry.

Other survivors include a daughter, Amanda K. Newport, Topeka; her parents, Topeka; two sisters, Melissa D. Wilson and Doyse J. Keller, Topeka; two brothers, Darrell J. Hanvy and Doyle E. Hanvy Jr., Topeka; a maternal grandfather, George R. Ditch Jr., Topeka; a paternal grandmother, Mae Maddux, Alto, Texas; and a grandson.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the mortuary, where family will receive them from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.
