State to sell antlers, too

Buffalo won’t be the only attraction at the upcoming buffalo auction at Maxwell Wildlife Refuge.

Wildlife and Parks will also offer department-acquired deer antlers at next Wednesday’s sale.

Several dozen sets and singles of white-tailed and mule deer antlers have been accumulated by KDWP in recent years from a variety of sources, including road-killed deer and forfeitures from illegally taken deer.

The antlers will be sold at 10 a.m., prior to the 11 a.m. start of the buffalo auction at the Maxwell Wildlife Refuge corrals, located 6 miles north and 11/2 miles west of Canton in McPherson County.
