KU adjusting responsibilities

Several members of the Kansas University athletic department staff are taking on new roles.

They are:

  • Andrew Steinberg, formerly compliance auditor, has moved into the role of director of marketing. Steinberg replaces Lee Johnson, who left to take a position at UT-San Antonio.
  • Brad Nachtigal, director of facilities and event management, has been promoted to assistant athletic director.
  • Terry Hines, associate athletic director for legal affairs, is taking over the compliance department and compliance has been added to his title.
  • Gary Kempf’s role will be assistant AD for traditions. Kempf will continue to work with KU coaches in a counseling and mentoring role, but also will work extensively with the K-Club, KU Hall of Fame and the Williams Fund.
