Mary Inez Woodman

Services for Mary Inez Woodman, 88, Lawrence, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church in Wichita. Private family graveside services will be in Maize Park Cemetery in Maize.

Mrs. Woodman died Thursday, May 29, 2003, at Brandon Woods Retirement Community.

She was born Dec. 18, 1914, in Maize, the daughter of Ersa and Elzie (Hardesty) Pray. She attended Maize schools and Emporia State University. She received an honorary degree from Wichita State University in 1989. The Woodman Alumni Center at Wichita State University is named for her and her husband. The couple received the Fairmount Founders Award from the WSU Endowment Assn. in 1989.

Mrs. Woodman was a homemaker. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Wichita, and First United Methodist Church, Lawrence.

She married K.T. Woodman on Sept. 4, 1938, in Wichita. He died July 9, 1996.

Survivors include four daughters, Elaine Brady and June Adams, both of Lawrence, Eledra Roulier, Denver, and Bobbi Torrison, Sarasota, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
