Roush

Loren and Martha Roush, Lawrence, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Loren Roush and Martha Ralston were married April 3, 1953, in Wetmore.

Loren is retired after 39 years of teaching. Martha worked eight years for Lawrence public schools and 18 years for Calvin, Eddy & Kappelman Inc. insurance agency.

The couple’s children are Lisa Clark, Valley Falls; David Roush, Holton, and Susan Roush, Perry. They also have four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The couple plan to celebrate June 29 with family and friends.

Edmonds

Herbert “Herb” and Elsa Edmonds, McLouth, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. June 8 at the McLouth United Methodist Church.

Herb Edmonds and Elsa Kurtz were married June 6, 1953, in Las Vegas.

Herb and Elsa graduated from McPherson College, where they met. They have lived in rural McLouth during their married life.

Herb farmed and sold real estate for many years. He is a land man for a local oil company. Elsa taught English and social studies and was the librarian for the McLouth School District for 17 years. She retired in 1995.

The couple’s children are Vicki Bechard, McLouth; Ken Edmonds, Kansas City, Mo., and Kathy Edmonds, McLouth. They also have four grandchildren.
