Gabaldon services

Services for Robert Irving Connor Gabaldon Jr., 56, Lawrence, will be at 4 p.m. today at Trinity Episcopal Church. Burial will be in Orange Cemetery in Webster, Wis.

Mr. Gabaldon died Tuesday, May 27, 2003, at his home.

He was born April 21, 1947, in Newport News, Va., the son of Robert I. Sr. and Grace (Connor) Gabaldon. He attended North Broadway Elementary and Third Avenue Elementary in Leavenworth, and Washington Elementary and junior and senior high schools in Fayetteville, Ark., before graduating in 1965 from Classen High School in Oklahoma City, Okla. He also attended junior college in Lawton, Okla., and Kansas University, where he performed in several operas. He graduated from Haskell Indian Nations University.

Mr. Gabaldon had worked at Sallie Mae and the U.S. Public Health Services/Indian Services in Shawnee, Okla. He was employed at NCS Pearson at the time of his death, and he was a musician and singer known as Bobby G. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and the Cheyenne-Arapaho Tribe and he was a St. Croix Chippewa.

He married Annabelle Nishioka in 1968. They later divorced.

Survivors include two daughters, Lindsey Spooner Gabaldon and Jennifer Gabaldon; two sons, Justin Spooner and David Gabaldon; his mother and stepfather, Toby Baker; a sister, Nina Desbien, Bayfield, Colo.; and a grandchild.

The family suggests memorials to the Trinity Music Fund at Trinity Episcopal Church, Haskell L.I.G.H.T. House or Lawrence Memorial Hospital Endowment Assn., sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, which handled arrangements.
