Wichita ? Bombardier Aerospace will keep the work it does on three business jets in Wichita, the company’s top official said.

Paul Tellier, the firm’s president and chief executive officer, said he has made a commitment to state and federal officials to keep work on the Learjet 60, 45 and 40 in Wichita.

He did not mention the other jets worked on in Wichita, the Learjet 45XR and the Challenger 300.

His comments came during a conference call Tuesday about the Canadian-based company’s first-quarter financial results.

Tellier says he is pleased with the support given by the Wichita employees.

“They have been very forthcoming,” Tellier said. “They are doing everything they can to provide an environment conducive to us being competitive.”

Bombardier recorded $3.6 billion in sales during February, March and April, the first three months of its financial year. That is down from $3.7 billion in the same time a year ago.
