Juanita B. Lytle

Graveside services for Juanita B. Lytle, 86, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Mount Calvary-Rose Hill Cemetery in Jefferson County.

Mrs. Lytle died Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at Brandon Woods Retirement Community.

She was born Feb. 4, 1917, in Buffalo County, Okla., the daughter of Samuel A. Pope and Eva (Bowen) Pope. She moved with her family to Comanche County when she was 4. She lived in Barber County and Cowley County before moving to Winfield in 1954 and Lawrence in 1996.

Mrs. Lytle was a rancher and farmer. She also worked as a private duty nurse and physical therapy aide at Winfield State Hospital and Training Center. She was active in Winfield Baptist Church, Business and Professional Women’s Organization, Good Sams Camping Club and Winfield Antique Auto Show Club.

She married Vernon F. Lytle on April 11, 1936, in Coldwater. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include two daughters, Kay Jenista, Lawrence, and Donita Ingenthron, Meriden; two sons, Wayne Lytle, Salina, and Arnold Lytle, Fir Crest, Wash.; a sister, Eva Parks, Kansas City, Mo.; six grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. today.

The family suggests memorials to KU Medical Center for Alzheimer’s research or the charity of the donor’s choice, sent in care of the funeral home.
