Carter misses practice because of neck injury

Toronto — Vince Carter did not practice Saturday because of a neck injury, and his status for Toronto’s game against Boston today will be a game-time decision.

The guard-forward injured his neck late in the fourth quarter of the Raptors’ 90-85 loss to Boston Friday night after colliding with Antoine Walker.

Carter has missed 33 games this season with knee injuries.

Center Jelani McCoy sprained his left ankle during the warmup and did not play in Boston. He also is a game-time decision for today.

Wizards sign Goldwire to 10-day contract

Washington — Anthony Goldwire signed a 10-day contract Saturday with the Washington Wizards, who have lost two point guards to injuries.

Goldwire has played in parts of four NBA seasons with Denver, Charlotte and San Antonio. He was released by the Spurs in December, and has been with the CBA’s Yakima Kings since.

The Wizards put Tyronn Lue on the injured list Friday with a separated left shoulder, while Larry Hughes is out with a sprained ankle.

Mavericks add Griffin, put Rigaudeau on shelf

Dallas — The Dallas Mavericks activated guard Adrian Griffin for Saturday night’s game against Memphis, and placed guard Antoine Rigaudeau on the injured list with back spasms.

Griffin, placed on the injured list Feb. 20 with right knee tendinitis, has averaged 4.1 points and 3.3 rebounds in 50 games.
