Dolores Ethel Werner
Services for Dolores Ethel Werner, 65, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will be in Topeka Cemetery.
Mrs. Werner died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2003, at her home.
She was born June 11, 1937, in Topeka, the daughter of Arthur and Gracie (Louber) Groves.
Mrs. Werner was a clerk at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, White Shrine, Beta Sigma Phi and Eudora Quilt Guild. She also was involved with Boy Scouts of America for more than 15 years.
She married Donald Werner on July 22, 1957, in Topeka. He died Dec. 4, 1990.
Survivors include two sons, Bill Werner, Overland Park, and Rick Werner, Lawrence; three brothers, Arthur Groves Jr., Aurora, Colo., Leroy Groves and Robert Groves, both of Topeka; two sisters, June Staggs, Grand Junction, Colo., and Judy Cochran, Topeka; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the mortuary.
The family suggests memorials to Hospice Care of Douglas County or the Oncology Center at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, sent in care of the mortuary.
