Donor relations director leaving KU for Purdue

For Geni Greiner, Indiana is the land of new challenges.

Greiner, director of donor relations for the Kansas University Endowment Association, will move to a new role July 7 as director of special events for Purdue University.

At KU, Greiner worked on special events and campaigns. She was also in charge of stewardship reporting, which tells donors what their money is being spent on. She didn’t do it alone, however, and Greiner said she would miss the people she had worked with at KU.

“I have a great staff that does most of the work,” she said. “It’s a great team effort.”

Greiner said she would have similar responsibilities at Purdue, but they would be on a larger scale. She will work on what Purdue calls a centralized advancement team in its University Development Office. The department combines the duties of KU’s Alumni Association, Endowment Association and University Relations.

“I learned a lot at KU and now I am ready for some new challenges,” Greiner said.

Greiner said another factor influencing her decision to move was the opportunity to work with Purdue President Martin Jischke. Greiner was the event director for Iowa State University when Jischke was president there.
