The Lawrence 299ers Duplicate Bridge Club met May 28 for its weekly game. The game attracted eight pairs, was Stratified and used a Howell movement. Don Brennaman directed the game.

John Gilbert and Judy Bevan claimed first place in A and B. Dan Osman and Betty Spalsbury finished second in A and B and first in C. Helen Huffman and Bob Huffman took third place in A and B. Julie Ward and Ann Thompson placed third in C.

The Lawrence Duplicate Bridge Club met Monday for its weekly game. The Stratified game attracted nine tables and used a Mitchell movement. Virginia Seaver directed the game.

Sitting East-West, Madelyn Jenks and Phyllis Brownlee claimed first place in A and B. Larry Bodle and Kent McCullough finished second in A. Klee Zaricky and Chris Lane placed third, followed by Clyde Romer and Steve Phelps. Pat Burgstahler and Martie Hartman took second place in B and first in C.

Playing East-West, Donna Johnson and Paul Heitzman finished in first place. Mike Blumenfeld and Cathy Blumenfeld finished second in A and first in B and C. Jerry Sloan and Eldon Herd took third place in A. John Hickey and Jim Kelley placed fourth in A.

The Lawrence TGIF Duplicate Bridge Club met May 30 for its weekly contest. Eight and a half tables competed in a Stratified game that used a Rover-Mitchell movement. Don Brennaman directed the game.

Competing North-South, Clyde Romer and Kent McCullough finished in first place. Yvonne Hedges and Shirley Reese placed second. Dan Osman and Virginia Eddy claimed third place in A, and first place in B and C. Chris Lane and Virginia Seaver placed fourth in A.

Playing East-West, Arthur Retsema and Phyllis Lustgarten claimed first place in A, B and C. Lynn Hui and Harry Shaffer finished second in A. Cathy Blumenfeld and Mike Blumenfeld placed third in A and second in B and C.
