Burglaries and thefts reported

  • Fatso’s, 1016 Mass., reported the theft of a vinyl sign valued at $1,300. The theft occurred between 3:15 p.m. May 28 and noon Thursday.
  • A 24-year-old Olathe man reported an auto burglary. The burglary occurred between 10 p.m. May 27 and 2 a.m. May 28 in the 1100 block of Massachusetts Street. Three hundred compact discs valued at $3,000, a portable compact-disc player valued at $20 and a hand-held calculator valued at $50 were taken.
  • A 25-year-old Lawrence man reported the theft of a 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse valued at $15,000. The theft occurred between 11 p.m. Monday and 3:45 a.m. Tuesday in the 2500 block of Winterbrook.
  • An 18-year-old Lawrence man reported the theft of a blue 1992 Toyota Camry valued at $3,800. The theft occurred between 1:05 a.m. Tuesday and 1:11 a.m. Tuesday in the 1300 block of East 27th Street.
  • A 21-year-old Lawrence woman reported the theft of a two-door 2000 Honda Civic SI, valued at $13,000. The theft occurred between 4:30 p.m. Monday and 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 2300 block of West 26th Street.
  • A 52-year-old Lawrence man reported the theft of a black 1999 Honda Civic valued at $12,000. Also taken were a set of four aluminum wheels valued at $2,000 and a rear trunk wing valued at $500. The theft occurred between 12:15 a.m. Tuesday and 8:18 a.m. Tuesday in the 1300 section of East 902 Road. The car was recovered Tuesday.
  • The city of Lawrence reported the theft of a “Kansas St.” sign valued at $100 at 7:38 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Kansas and Utah streets. The city also reported the theft of a “10th St.” sign, “Missouri St.” sign and a stop sign valued at a total of $150 at 8:08 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of 10th and Missouri streets.
