The future bride is the daughter of Arthur Stanwood, Steuben, Maine, and the late Cynthia Carter Stanwood. She is a 1993 graduate of Sumner High School in East Sullivan, Maine. She is pursuing a degree in criminal psychology at Kansas University.
The future groom is an electrician for Stoneridge Electric in Lawrence.
The couple plan a fall 2004 wedding.

The future bride is the daughter of William Guthrie Jr., Westminster, Colo., and Susan Guthrie, Lawrence. She is a 1995 graduate of Lawrence High School and a 1999 graduate of Kansas State University. She is director of Circle C Learning Center in Austin, Texas.
The future groom is the son of Jeffery and Rhea Kester, San Marcos, Texas. He is a 1991 graduate of San Marcos High School. He is a loan officer at Coast to Coast Mortgage and Lending in Austin, Texas.
The couple plan an April 24, 2004, wedding in Austin, Texas.
Doty-Hadl
Charneil and Michael Swenson, Lawrence, and John Hadl, Lawrence, announce the engagement of their son John Hadl II to Carol Doty, both of San Diego.
The future bride is the daughter of Dr. Howard and Claree Doty, La Jolla, Calif.
The couple plan a Nov. 7 wedding in Oahu, Hawaii.
Dornberger-Huber
Louis and Anne Dornberger, Ozawkie, announce the engagement of their daughter Lea Dornberger to Jonathan Huber, son of Garry Huber, Lenexa, and Cindy Huber, Shawnee.
The future bride is a graduate of McLouth High School and is employed as a trainer at the Equine Academy of Tampa Bay, Fla.
The future groom is a graduate of Shawnee Mission West High School and is a bio-environmentalist engineer with the U.S. Air Force in Tampa.

The future bride is the daughter of Millie Schonherr, Lawrence; Richard Moore, Overbrook; and Tanya Moore, Baldwin. She is a 1998 graduate of Baldwin High School. She is a dispatcher for Douglas County.
The future groom is the son of Wayne and Sandra Reusch, Lawrence. He is a 1997 graduate of Lawrence High School. He works for the city of Lawrence Utilities Department and Transmasters Towing.
The couple plan an Aug. 1 wedding in Lawrence.
Griffith-Miadowicz
Dale and Rosalie Griffith, Topeka, announce the engagement of their daughter Heather Griffith to Jedrzej Miadowicz, both of Lawrence.
The future bride is a graduate of Shawnee Heights High School in Topeka. She received a bachelor’s degree in biology from Kansas University and a master’s degree from the KU school of medicine. She is a physical therapist at Neu Physical Therapy and assistant director and dance instructor at Dance City, both in Lawrence.
The future groom is the son of Zdzislaw and Lidia Miadowicz, Poznan, Poland. He received a master’s degree in computer science from Poznan University of Technology in Poland. He will receive a doctorate in computer science this fall from KU and will work at Garmin International Inc., Olathe.
The couple plan a Sept. 20 wedding at St. Lawrence Catholic Campus Center. They will travel to Poznan, Poland, for a second church ceremony and reception Oct. 4.
Mellard-Dorssom
Daryl and Ellen Mellard, Perry, announce the engagement of their daughter Ashley Mellard, Omaha, Neb., to Charlie Dorssom, Lawrence.
The future bride graduated in 2000 from Perry-Lecompton High School. She plans to graduate in December from Creighton University with a bachelor’s degree in health administration and policy. She plans to attend graduate school in fall 2004.
The future groom is the son of James and Martha Dorssom, Lecompton. He graduated in 1997 from PLHS. He earned a bachelor’s degree in atmospheric science in May from Kansas University. He plans to become a commissioned weather officer in the U.S. Air Force.
