Honeywell to close Lawrence facility, affecting 189 employees

Honeywell International will be closing its Lawrence manufacturing facility and transferring the work to Olathe, company officials told employees this morning.

The move will affect all 189 employees at the Lawrence facility, 2920 Haskell Avenue. It wasn’t immediately clear whether some jobs will be eliminated. The company, in a press release, said the “majority” of Lawrence employees will be allowed to transfer to the Olathe plant.

The Lawrence facility manufactures traffic alert systems for the aviation industry, and also repairs a brand of aviation radios.
