T.W. Holderman

? Services for T.W. “Ted” Holderman, 83, El Dorado, will be at 11 a.m. today at Kirby-Morris Funeral Home, El Dorado. Burial will be at Chelsea Cemetery in Butler County.

Mr. Holderman died Saturday, July 5, 2003, at his home.

He was born April 12, 1920, in El Dorado, the son of Theodore Walter and Mattie (Hunt) Holderman. He was a lifelong resident of the El Dorado area and graduated in 1938 from El Dorado High School.

Mr. Holderman served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and served on the USS Cascade Destroyer in the Pacific theater. He was a retired painter.

He was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Moose and Elks lodges.

He married Barbara Sontag on Sept. 18, 1948, in Olathe. She survives, of the home.

Other survivors include a daughter, Helen Chambers, Lawrence; a son, Jim, El Dorado; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
