ENID, OKLA. ? Lawrence’s Raiders defeated Wichita’s Gators, 7-1, Sunday in the consolation championship of the Enid Fourth of July youth baseball tournament.

Derek Bailey slugged a grand slam in the fourth inning for his seventh home run of the summer. He plated three Raiders who had walked, boosting a one-run lead to a five-run edge.

Matt Lane had an RBI single for the Raiders. Blake Dickson struck out six, walked two and tossed a four-hitter.

“We played very well today. We hit the ball. They made some (six) errors,” Lawrence coach Carl Brooks said. “Derek’s home run was really a big turning point in the game. We went from being ahead 2-1 to 6-1 with one swing of the bat.”

The Raiders, 3-2 at the tourney and 22-10 overall, will meet Paola at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Free State.
